THE PRIVATE QUARTERS

This project may only consist of two rooms, but due to the attention to detail that was implemented, a small project turned out to be a complex one. The main challenge was to make a large cold space feel warm and intimate. A large portion of the original bedroom was taken to make part of the walk-in wardrobe and dressing area, which now leads to the main bedroom.

The TV unit was built in a way to lose the skewed walls. Not only did the TV unit help make the room become regular, but the air conditioning services were all concealed behind it.

Facing the TV unit one finds the bed with magnificent custom-made paneling, which is found above an upholstered headboard, both of which follow the same proportions, and similar colour tones. A local artist was engaged to create intricate wall paneling behind the bed.

Paneling carried on within the walk-in wardrobe, with all the storage cupboards adorned with moulding and ivory white handles. A vanity unit within the walk-in is defined with Cardoso stone surfaces and mirrors surrounded with light bulbs, giving the space a glamorous feel.
